Leander City Council Candidate Forum
and
Meet and Greet
Come join LeanderARW for a forum with the Republican candidates running for the Leander City Council.* We will also be having a candidate meet and greet before and after our meeting for you to ask questions and get to know the candidates better. LeanderARW believes in helping our members make an informed and educated decision with their vote.
*As per our Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, Candidate Endorsement: Leander Area Republican Women do not endorse any candidate for public office in contested Republican primaries, runoff elections, and special elections, and/or non-partisan elections when more than one Republican is in the race. All Republican candidates on the City of Leander ballot have been invited to attend in the forum and/or meet and greet.
Article III, Section 9, Candidate Fairness: After the end of the candidate filing period for any office and ending the day after the final election for that office, it is the policy of Texas Federation of Republican Women that all Republican candidates for that office shall be treated fairly and equitably. When one Republican candidate for an office is invited to speak at a Federation or local club meeting, then all Republican candidates for that office shall be offered equal presentation time at the same meeting or another meeting before the election.

"In Texas, there are several main ways for a voter to affiliate with a party: by being accepted to vote in a party’s primary election, by taking the required oath at a party precinct convention, or by taking a party oath of affiliation generally (§§162.003, 162.006, 162.007). A voter’s affiliation with a party automatically expires at the end of each calendar year, which is December 31. (§162.010). A voter who has affiliated themselves with a party is ineligible to participate in the party affairs of another party during the same calendar year. (§§162.012, 162.013). "
