Sheriff Matt Lindemann Bio
Matt Lindemann was sworn into office as Williamson County Sheriff on Jan. 1, 2025. Prior to his election as Sheriff, he was appointed as Precinct 3 Constable to fill the vacancy left by the sudden death of Kevin Stofle in October 2021.
Lindemann has a long history in law enforcement. He started his career as a corrections officer for the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. He then became a patrol deputy. He joined the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in 1990 as a state trooper. He retired from DPS in 2018 as a lieutenant in the Texas Ranger Division. He then served as a sergeant investigator with the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office.
